Bragg isn't just any ol' candidate either. He's got some serious experience under his belt. He's a former federal prosecutor and has worked as the chief deputy attorney general under Eric Schneiderman. And let's not forget that he's a Black man in a position of power, which means he'll be able to bring a different perspective to the table.

But what really caught my eye about Bragg is his commitment to criminal justice reform. He's been a vocal advocate for ending cash bail and closing Rikers Island, two issues that disproportionately affect Black and brown folks. And with everything that's been happening in our country lately (George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, the list goes on), we need someone in power who is not only willing to talk about these issues but actually do something about them.

The fact that Bragg is running for District Attorney two years earlier than planned tells me he's serious about making a change. He's not waiting for more people to suffer under the current system before he steps up; he's taking action now. And that's the kind of leader we need in our communities.

So let's get out there and show our support for Alvin Bragg! We need to let people know that we're tired of the same old politics and we want real change. And who knows, maybe with Bragg in office, we'll finally start to see some justice in Manhattan.
